Terms of hire

These are the terms you agree to when you book the studio. They are the same words shown above the signature at checkout — this page and that one are the same text, drawn from the same place, so they cannot drift apart.

  1. Hourly slots run 55 minutes. You may enter 5 minutes before your start time and must be out on the :55 so the next hirer starts on time. Your hire time includes setup and breakdown.
  2. Full payment is required to confirm your booking.
  3. Bookings are non-refundable. You may reschedule by giving at least 7 days’ notice, subject to availability.
  4. The studio is staffed. Ring the bell when you arrive and a member of the team will let you in, from 5 minutes before your start time.
  5. You may use only the studio you have booked. You are responsible for everyone you bring in and for any loss or damage they cause.
  6. If nobody answers the bell, contact us on WhatsApp or by phone. Time lost through a fault on our side is credited or rescheduled free.
  7. The studio must be left as you found it. A £30 cleaning fee applies only where it is left untidy — it is not a standard charge.
  8. Overrunning is charged at £15 per 15 minutes.

Card on file

When you book you also sign a card authority. This is what it says, in full:

I am keeping this card on file and I authorise Steps Studios Hoxton to take payment from it for any of the additional charges in the terms that I actually incur: overrunning at £15 per 15 minutes, the £30 cleaning fee only if the studio is left untidy, and the cost of repairing or replacing anything damaged or lost. Nothing beyond my booking total is charged unless one of these applies, and every charge is itemised and emailed to me before it is taken.

Your card is held by Stripe, our payment processor. This studio never sees or stores your card number — only the brand and the last four digits, so you can tell which card it is.

Version 2026-10-06. Every signature is stored with a copy of the wording that was on screen when it was given, so a change here never alters what somebody already agreed to.
